I can set goals like a champion.
Meeting them on time? I’m still working on that.
ANYWAY. Friday Fictioneers time!
Window Watching
My mother taught me to look up at windows when passing tall buildings. Sometimes I’d see cats, lounging in the sun. Others would show office workers, leaning against the thick glass and looking out longingly like a bird beating its wings against the bars of a cage.
Finding windows open to the sunshine was a regular occurrence. Finding them open in the middle of a rainstorm was unexpected – almost as unexpected as realizing the sunshine was still there, coming from beyond the crisp curtains.
The building’s fire escape climbed up the building next to the curtains. So I climbed, too.
Dear Jessica,
I love looking in people’s windows in passing, particularly in the evenings. Lovely story.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Jess to the rescue? I love nightime windows when you see snapshots of people’s lives.
